Nocturnal Animals

The second venue by the talented chef Alex Claridge opened its doors at the beginning of November in the centre of Birmingham.

Cobra Bar Stool Manu Armchair Marble Table Top Round Table Base

Fine dining produced in a provocative way, Alex got inspired to create Nocturnal Animals while listening to the ‘All Out 80s’ playlist on Spotify and wanted the restaurant to reflect the feeling.

Furniture Fusion worked with the team at Faber Design and the brief was simple – a mix of monochrome with neon, with a postmodernist furniture style that will make a statement.

The upstairs bar features the Cobra barstool, upholstered in a blush pink fabric. The contrasting black frame makes the stool stand out in the room beautifully.

Downstairs restaurant has forty-two Manu armchairs in a pearl effect leather. Mixed with the black frame, the restaurant represents the brief to the letter, with the monochromatic seating against the colourful mosaic floor tiles.

‘We needed a really iconic bar stool to complement the double-height bar, which is the first thing people see as they enter the venue – but we didn’t want anything too faddy or trend-based, so this classic silhouette was perfect. For the dining chairs, the style and comfort were key, and we wanted something fully upholstered with a luxurious but eclectic feel, keeping with the eccentricity of the rest of the design.’ Aisling Ryan, Designer at Faber Design

The mix of black, white and silver marble tops on black table bases compliment the look perfectly and we couldn’t be happier with the result. Stylish, modern, mixing quality with style, Nocturnal Animals is a place to be in Birmingham.
