Hotel Indigo, Manchester

The beauty of Indigo Hotels lays in their uniqueness – each hotel has its own style that reflects the city it is in. Hotel Indigo Manchester is inspired by the city’s history of music, literature, creativity, tea, printing, cotton manufacture and the theme runs throughout the building.

Bespoke Lounge Chair and Sofa Poufs Sonny Side Chair Apelle Chic side table York Coffee Table Check In Table Loto Chair Eileen Side Chair Bespoke Side Tables Baron Range

Furniture Fusion was approached at the beginning of 2017 by 3D Reid Architecture, after successfully completing our prior project at Gorgie Road Student Accommodation. For the next year and a half, we ate, slept and breathed the project, seeing the design evolve from the initial sketches to its final look and we couldn’t be more excited, especially as we supplied all the loose furniture for the entire hotel.

The lobby area has a nice mix of our staple pieces and bespoke furniture, all in earthy tones, perfect for relaxing. The bespoke check-in table with the 100mm thick square cut oak top, set in a metal base with the Arkan side chair, create a perfect little office space.

The main lobby room features our bespoke two-metre-long sofa and bespoke lounge chairs. Combined with round and dome shaped poufs, York coffee table and Apelle Chic side table, the room has a very tactile feel, mixing leather, fabric, wood and metal. The Apelle Chic side tables particularly bring a modern feel to otherwise classic looking pieces.

Behind a pair of sliding doors is a room available for private meetings. On one side, the Zeus table with the Sonny side and armchairs give more of a formal feel to any meeting held, while the seating area on the other side is very laid back. Baron sofa in terracotta brings a bit of colour to the room, while the bespoke lounge chairs offer great comfort. A pair of Flen coffee tables in two heights and walnut finish complements the warm look.

The Manchester theme is most present in the rooms and whether you enter the tea, cotton or printing themed rooms, the attention to detail is amazing.

From standard rooms to suites, the Eileen side chair is featured throughout, as a desk chair. For the added comfort, a number of lounge chairs were used, from the Loto to Baron and a few bespoke pieces. Upholstered in velvets, the lounge chairs have the comfortable look and feel, ideal for a hotel room.

The side tables in all rooms were drawn inhouse and manufactured in UK, to fit the space. The designs contrast with the soft upholstery, as we used a lot of steel rods, marble and wood, making the tables stand out in the space.

The suites offer an extra room and we love how Baron sofa looks upholstered in the grey fabric. Combined with the bespoke lounge chair, the cabinet coffee table and the Liberty table, the Indigo suites have the ultimate hotel design.

Whether it’s the cotton flowers in vases, the tea cups on the walls or the bedside lamps made of books about Manchester, the design detail in the hotel is outstanding. The mix of old and new, inside and out, make Hotel Indigo Manchester very unique and we are proud to see the final result of a project our entire office worked on.
