Hotel Indigo, Newcastle

Our latest project took us back to the North East, creating and supplying furniture for a stylish boutique hotel in Newcastle’s buzzy centre.

A popular choice for those visiting the city for entertainment and business, Hotel Indigo Newcastle has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment, with the ICA team designing a bright new look for the hotel’s bar, restaurant, lobby and reception.

We loved having the opportunity to create some bespoke items for the project, and also supplied pieces from our collection - like our Block and S-tool Bar Stool, which sit perfectly alongside the retro tiled bar.

The contrast of low- and high-backed stools adds interest to the space, while both pieces feature comfortable cushioned seats and backs and are upholstered in faux leather in tonal shades of green and turquoise.

The new-look restaurant is the perfect setting for some of our most popular armchairs and side chairs, and our Joanne Armchair works so well in this airy, light-filled space. We love the contrast of the dark stained solid beech frame with the textured Osborne & Little putty-coloured fabric used for the back and deep brown faux leather seat upholstery. Our Biba Side Chair is an excellent choice for any commercial setting - shown here with a dark stained solid beech frame and caramel-coloured faux leather upholstery - as is our Matisse Armchair, upholstered in vintage faux leather in Juniper.

The hotel lobby is home to one of our favourite corners of the revamped interior. Here our Leonora Lounge Chair looks great in deep brown faux leather with a dark stained solid beech frame. The striking silhouette and sleek styling makes Leonora a perfect choice for any commercial interior - bar, restaurant, office, hotel lounge or lobby.

We always enjoy an opportunity to create bespoke pieces for a project, delivering something unique that’s designed to the client’s specifications. The bedrooms and executive suites now feature bespoke chairs, and we also created statement lounge chairs for the hotel lobby. The chunky curves of this cushioned chair look fantastic upholstered in a textured woven fabric from Roma.

Our Class Sofa adds an elegant touch to the lobby with upholstery in a deep indigo velvet. We love the contrast with the Monet Lounge Chair - its striking black rattan frame makes a real statement in the space alongside our Vincenza and Glow lounge chairs. 

Lastly in the expansive lobby space, our Filace Lounge Chairs line the grand floor-to-ceiling windows, upholstered in a light denim blue and accompanied by chic marble-top tables.

It was a pleasure to work once again with the ICA team to create something special for this popular hotel and we think the end result looks fantastic.
