The Grand Hotel, Leicester

Our latest project took us to a hotel that’s been at the centre of Leicester for over a century - we were delighted to create and supply furniture for the new look Grand Hotel in Leicester.

This Grade II listed building is a true icon in the heart of Leicester’s city centre, with an interior full of heritage features from panelled ceilings and pillars in the lobby to beautifully-detailed cornicing throughout the space.

We supplied a range of furniture for the project, from specially-created bespoke pieces to some of the best-selling chairs, tables, sofas and bar stools from our collection. Beginning with the elegant lobby, our Lana side chair is fully-upholstered in a soft blush velvet fabric and looks great alongside our bespoke sofas, giving guests somewhere comfortable to sit on arrival at the hotel. 

We also provided the Lana chair with split upholstery, with the seat upholstered in faux leather and the back in a striking textured velvet fabric which sits perfectly in this beautiful Victorian building.

The project also extends to the hotel’s stylish bedrooms, which now include our bespoke sofa bed and elegant bench. We also created a bespoke pouf, upholstered in deep sea-green faux leather and a geometric print velvet, finished with piping in burnt orange velvet.

Split upholstery also features elsewhere in the project - a great way to add interest to an armchair, lounge chair or bar stool. Our Anna bar stool has an inner back and seat upholstered in olive faux leather, while the outer back is upholstered in a distinctive graphic print fabric - a great spot to enjoy a drink in the refurbished hotel bar and restaurant. 

The new look space is bright, airy, spacious and stylish, bringing a contemporary touch alongside the heritage features of this iconic Grade II listed building.

The bar is now home to our Lana chair, supplied with split upholstery in soft green velvet to the inner back and seat, while the outer back is upholstered in a beautiful floral damask fabric - a nod to the hotel’s Victorian heritage. Our Wings dining armchair is upholstered in a deep burgundy velvet fabric and also in olive green faux leather.

The restaurant also features our Ginger side chair with a solid beech frame stained to dark oak and a seat upholstered in deep mahogany faux leather. 

We supplied our popular Nemesis side chair in two variants - with upholstery in olive faux leather and also in deep bottle green faux leather. These heritage shades look great next to the rattan back of this stylish chair.

Tabletops in pristine white quartz with dramatic veining top table bases in an antique brass finish whilst elsewhere our oak-topped tables feature a brushed bronze metallic effect edge. We also supplied tables topped with stunning deep green Rajasthan marble - a really beautiful addition to this very special space.
