Looking for a late-summer break? Check out these incredible finds.

Amangiri resort

While our first round-up focused on European cities, this time we’re starting a little further afield, with an incredible hotel in Utah’s ancient desert landscape.

The Amangiri resort sits in untouched red-rock country on over 900 acres of the Colorado Plateau and it promises to be a serene sanctuary, with potential for exhilarating adventure or relaxation and recovery. Each of the 34 modernist suites is a masterpiece in pared-back luxury, from the white stone floors to the natural timbers and fittings in blackened steel. Each suite has an outdoor lounge and fireplace with expansive desert views, while some feature a private pool or roof terrace.

Our Leonora Lounge Chair has a striking silhouette with its distinctive solid timber frame. Keep the fully upholstered back and seat neutral for a clean, contemporary look or opt for bold colour, patterned fabric or leather - the perfect choice for our recent project with Hotel Indigo Newcastle.

The Pitagora collection sits perfectly in any outside space - views of the Colorado Plateau are not mandatory. Choose the sofa, armchair or lounge chair and tailor the fabric and finish of the pieces to complement your hotel terrace or outdoor dining space.

Style-hunters have known Berlin’s credentials as a design destination for decades - from music and fashion to art and architecture, there’s lots to love about a mini break in the Germany capital, and there’s no better place to stay than the super-cool Sir Savigny Hotel in the city’s swish Charlottenburg neighbourhood.

The 44 suites and bedrooms feature crisp white bed linen, velvet throws and leather upholstery with period touches to reflect the Art Nouveau building. Quirky, witty touches put guests at their ease - this is not a stuffy, starchy stay.

Aiming for a home from home vibe, there’s no lobby and reception desk. Instead, guests make their way to the lounge (below), filled with low-slung chairs and mid-century furniture. A great spot to relax, read a book or sip a drink.

It’s possible to make a real impact with a few statement pieces for a lounge, lobby or bar area. Choose classic shapes upholstered in contrasting fabrics or colours, as seen in our project at Regent’s University London, or opt for lounge chairs in standout shapes, upholstered in supple leather or textured fabric.

Our Lubna Lounge Chair brings a retro feel to any commercial interior - finished with a choice of four base styles including this swivel base.

The Loop Lounge Chair is an oversized statement piece - irresistible in a hotel lounge or lobby, with a generously curved shape and comfortable upholstery. It’s also available as a sofa and can be customised with fabric or leather to suit your interior.

The recent coverage from Paris makes our final pick easy - back to Greece, the home of the Olympics. The New Hotel in Athens (pictured below) began life as the Olympic Palace Hotel - one of the city’s best examples of modernist architecture. The hotel’s new owner was keen that nothing from the original building be thrown away, hiring Brazilian interior design legends the Campana brothers - noted for their ability to breathe new life into discarded and reclaimed materials.

The result is truly quirky and creative - this is a hotel that design lovers will feel at home in. It’s full of inspiring and innovative touches, from tree-like sculptures made from a mix of waste wood and repurposed furniture to pop art pieces by Jeff Koons. The 7th floor art lounge includes a library stocked with over 2,000 art and design books (if you can tear yourself away from the Parthenon views), this is a hotel packed with personality and charm, in a perfect location in the heart of Athens.

Our 1900 collection reimagines the charming public chairs found at traditional French bandstands, with hand-forged scrolls and rings, but with a design that’s evolved and refined for comfort. Perfect on a hotel balcony, garden, outside terrace, restaurant or café, with weather resistant cushions and frames available in a range of bright, vibrant colours.
