A deep dive into the home of celebrity Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan's home.

20. 01. 25

We often say that there’s inspiration in everything - music, art, architecture and books all contribute to our creativity and we love connecting with clients, suppliers and designers who feel the same way. So it was music to our ears to hear how Guns N’ Roses’ bass guitarist Duff McKagan and his supermodel wife Susan Holmes-McKagan approached the renovation of their home. Rather than relying on Pinterest boards or the latest issue of Elle Deco, the pair embarked on an epic global adventure, gathering inspiration from the hotels, bars and restaurants they came across from Thailand to Iceland, Chateau Marmont to the Italian lakes.

This struck a chord because we do the same - we love seeing what’s new in interior design, whether commercial or residential projects and can’t resist keeping an eye on the exclusive tours of celebrity homes featured regularly in Architectural Digest - in particular their exclusive tours of celebrity homes. So we thought we’d share a few of our favourite corners of this rock’n’roll icon’s incredible home - and see if there’s any pieces in our collection which might strike a chord. The living room is a stunning space - with stained glass and polished brass alongside art deco-inspired elegant lounge chairs and sofa with gleaming rose gold coffee tables, it’s quirky, unique and extremely comfortable.

Our Roll lounge chair would work perfectly here - it’s a popular choice for hotel, bar and restaurant interiors, featuring recently in our projects at an atmospheric West End cocktail bar and at the recently-launched Babbo restaurant in London.

The Lofer sofa is a great choice for hotel lounges, bars or any contemporary commercial interior - we love the exaggerated curves and comfortable cushioning. The base can be stained in a range of colours and finishes and the sofa can be upholstered in fabric, leather or faux leather to suit your project.

The McKagens’ kitchen is a contrast to the colour-saturated interiors in the rest of the house. Classic white tiled walls, painted cabinets and beams lend a cool, calm feel to the space, with the island unit finished in a deep cobalt blue. There’s a witty touch to the barstool chairs arranged around the island - black leather upholstery is finished with brass stud detailing and a black leather fringe in a nod to the owner’s rock’n’roll roots.

Our Camellia bar stools have a similar feel - part of a collection which also includes elegant lounge chairs, it’s a great choice for a bar, restaurant or hotel interior. They don’t feature the rock’n’roll design details as standard but we love a challenge and love an opportunity to create bespoke furniture.

Holmes-McKagen’s office is a glamorous space, featuring brushed gold finishes, red gloss paintwork and vintage crystal details. We love the contrast of the elegant, streamlined desk with the classic button-backed seating upholstered in leather. Our Roma lounge chair has a high, buttoned back and classic rolled arms - it’s a great statement piece in a hotel lounge or bar, with upholstery available in a range of leathers and fabrics.

The 1927 Tudor mansion sits on the shores of Lake Washington, making super-stylish outdoor furniture non-negotiable. Taking inspiration from their stay at Lake Como, the pair have brought a luxe hotel feel to the garden and pool terrace, with retro striped upholstery and elegant loungers around the pool. Guests can arrive by boat or seaplane - not the average commute!

Our range of outdoor furniture includes chairs, sofas, bar stools and tables to suit any space - we think the Lagarto collection would sit perfectly by the McKagens’ poolside. The slimline metal frame brings a retro feel and is available in a wide range of colours, with a choice of upholstery fabrics for the seat cushion

In addition to our main collection, we can also create bespoke pieces to suit every space and project - we love a chance to get creative and work collaboratively with clients and designers. To keep up to date with our latest collection and new additions to our contract furniture range.
