Furniture for a new-look hotel lobby in the heart of York’s historic centre
A recent project took us to the heart of York’s historic city centre, supplying furniture for the new-look lobby at the Hilton York hotel.
Perfectly-positioned within the city's medieval walls and just steps from the iconic Clifford's Tower, the refurbished lobby brings a fresh new look and gives guests somewhere welcoming and comfortable to enjoy on arrival or throughout their stay. The redesigned space includes sofas, lounge chairs, armchairs, tables and benches, allowing guests to relax with friends and family, sit in smaller groups or catch up on
some work.
Our Trento curved sofa is a really appealing addition to the space - upholstered in rich damson-coloured velvet, its generous proportions make it a great choice for a busy hotel lobby, bar or lounge. We also used the same fabric to upholster our Hug 3-seater sofa, which sits perfectly alongside our bespoke Ramis coffee table and the distinctive Trap lounge chair, while the compact Loft two-seated sofa is upholstered in a beautiful olive green velvet fabric.
The popular Roma lounge chair provides a pop of colour with seat upholstery in a bold mustard yellow faux leather while the backrest is upholstered in a textured fabric in the same shade. Our Celle lounge chairs sit in a quiet corner, upholstered in tan faux leather, with a backrest cushion created in a textured grass green fabric.
Our Madison antique brass ribbed coffee table is a really distinctive piece at the heart of the hotel’s lobby - practical and stylish, it looks wonderful in the refurbished space and is part of the same collection as the Madison sideboard which fits perfectly in an alcove of the lobby. Both pieces feature the same brass and MDF finish which works so well with the green and deep plum shades used elsewhere.
Meanwhile our elegant Hug bench was supplied with a plywood and solid beech frame stained to a smoked oak finish.
The bench sits alongside our Solids coffee table - a solid oak and metal base topped with Marquina black marble. We think the bench and table look fantastic at this sunny window - the perfect spot to sit and enjoy the view over this fascinating city.
