Thistle Hotel London Heathrow T5

Our latest project took us to one of the world’s busiest airports, creating and supplying furniture for a redesigned hotel at London Heathrow Airport. 

Situated alongside the runway and next to the terminal, Thistle Hotel London Heathrow T5 is a perfect destination for travellers, or those who love a bit of big jet watching. The hotel has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment, with a bright new look for the Aviator Sports Bar & Restaurant and hotel lobby.

We’ve been involved in the project for over 18 months, so are delighted to see the end results, with the redesigned spaces completed in plenty of time for the peak summer travel period. It’s always great to have the opportunity to create some bespoke items, supplied for this project along with pieces from our collection - like our Lucy Side Chair, Armchair and Bar Stools which are now installed throughout the bar and restaurant. Our Lucy Side Chair is a great choice for any hospitality interior - supplied for this project upholstered in sleek faux leather with textured linen-look fabric for the inner and outer back.

Floor to ceiling windows run the length of the spacious bar and restaurant, giving plane watchers a perfect spot to spy aircraft landing and taking off - as captured in a number of our project images. For the restaurant seating, we chose the Portland Side Chair, upholstered in beautiful woven Sunbury fabrics and complemented by cherry-stained legs.

The bar area is an inviting place to spend some time, with plenty of comfortable seating throughout. We created a bespoke version of our Glow Sofa - a streamlined shape with a retro, mid-century feel. Upholstered again in textured Sunbury fabrics, it sits perfectly alongside our Glow Low Back Lounge Chair.

The hotel lobby also has a striking new look, which sets a really welcoming tone for guests on arrival at the hotel.

Pieces from our Alissa collection look fantastic with contrasting back and seat upholstery, with the side chair legs stained to walnut to coordinate with our Ramis Oval Coffee Table. Our Fiji Lounge Chair and Stanton Modular Seating add a contemporary touch - both with elegant metal frame details and upholstery in muted shades of blue, grey and heather.
