Famous Finds: A look inside the Parisian mansion of Lenny Kravitz
A few of our favourite corners of the musical legend’s incredible home.

It will come as no surprise that there’s an atmospheric, intimate and suitably rock’n’roll party space at the heart of Lenny Kravitz’s home; but we’re willing to bet you wouldn’t expect it to be housed in an elegant Parisian villa which once belonged to an aristocrat. When searching for a pied à terre in the French capital, Kravitz initially resisted the grand 1920s mansion, but as soon as he set foot inside, he knew it was the one. His design studio got to work and the results are incredible, creating a home that’s as stylish, elegant and luxurious as the building itself, with plenty of funky design details to bring personality and add an edge.
We do love the exclusive tours of celebrity homes featured regularly in Architectural Digest so thought we’d share a few of our favourite corners of this musical legend’s incredible home - and we’ve taken a spin through our back catalogue to find some pieces which might strike a chord.
The grand salon is an elegant reception room with floor-to-ceiling glazed doors which open out onto the lush gardens that surround the villa. The colour scheme here is a classy combination of creams, coffee and rich chocolate brown, with texture and shape adding interest. Vintage pieces and mid-century treasures sit alongside Muhammad Ali memorabilia and contemporary art.
We’ve written before about how effective a statement shape can be when choosing lounge chairs for a hotel, bar or other commercial interior, and this home reflects just that. A pair of chairs with exaggerated curves and generous proportions are covered in bouclé fabric, while another pair alongside features a more refined silhouette with a curved wooden frame and a seat upholstered in snakeskin-effect leather.
Our Godò lounge chair shares a similar shape and has the added benefit of being suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

There’s a wide range of seats with statement shapes in our collection, so it’s easy to find something to suit, but we think our Ronda lounge chair with swivel base or Manila R lounge chair with polished brass pedestal base would sit comfortably in this room.

Modular sofas are increasingly popular for commercial projects and it’s easy to see why one has been used here in the primary suite’s television lounge. A modular piece lets you create something to suit your space, with options to add or remove sections to give flexibility as required. While we don’t have a dupe of the sofa Kravitz has chosen, our Aria modular sofa shares an oversized, chunky feel with quilted cushioning on the upholstery.

Our Wow round pouf is available in a range of sizes and even as an outdoor version - just add zebra-print fabric and set alongside a shaggy rug to add a touch of Lenny luxe to an interior.

It’s not all neutral paintwork and elegant chandeliers chez Kravitz - the mansion boasts a two-story party space in what was the villa’s boiler room. The Chaufferie is where the singer and family entertain - with walls and ceilings painted deep crimson, a 1940s German-made disco ball sets the vibe and there’s a top-spec sound system. Guests can take a seat around old French bistro tables - a flea market find but you can recreate the look from our collection of table tops and bases.

It looks as though the bespoke white marble-topped tables we created for our recent project at Burger & Lobster Brighton would work well in this space - these particular table tops featured metallic copper veining through the marble, a special design detail.

The Chaufferie has a laidback, timeless vibe which calls for a classic - bentwood chairs look at home in contemporary bars, restaurants and cafes just as they have over decades. Our collection includes several pieces with a nod to this much-loved style, with a twist or two to add some interest to your interior.
The Nodo side chair comes with a wooden, woven or upholstered backrest and its beech wood frame can be stained to suit your project.

The influence of this classic extends to outside seating, with our Julie side chair echoing the iconic bentwood back - made in polypropylene, it’s a lightweight, stackable piece that’s available in a wide range of colours and suitable for use indoors or outdoors.

Much of Kravtiz’ home features unique vintage pieces, which can’t be replicated by trawling our standard collection. However in addition to our main collection, we can also create bespoke pieces to suit every space and project - from a super-sized sofa to a dining table with space for all the band, we love a challenge and an opportunity to work collaboratively with clients and designers.
