Famous Finds 2

Taking inspiration for our next interior project.

19. 10. 23

We've written before about how much we love seeing what's new in interior design, whether commercial or residential projects - we can't resist keeping an eye on the exclusive tours of celebrity homes featured regularly in Architectural Digest - in particular their exclusive tours of celebrity homes. And as we've just celebrated the annual Mean Girls Day, it seemed appropriate to take a peek at Amanda Seyfried's New York pied-a-terre - a petite pad she and her husband use when work brings them to the city.

The bright, airy apartment sits within a historic building - chosen by Seyfried for its architectural details and heritage which naturally limited what was possible in terms of layout and alterations. The finished product is a masterclass in space-saving design, retaining a relaxed feel with a bit of the country spirit the actress loves in her upstate home.

We love the wide plank flooring and custom shutters made for the arched window frames, and we're torn about which is the best seat in the house. There's a generously-sized sofa upholstered in sleek duck-egg blue velvet fabric, which sits perfectly next to the restored, re-upholstered vintage armchairs and low tables.

The kitchen is a stand-out space - smart design has positioned the sleek marble-topped island unit underneath a large skylight, flooding the apartment with natural light and creating a fabulous focal point in the interior. The chalk white walls make a great backdrop to the natural wood and the retro-style stools are a chic contract to the sleek worktops and minimalist cupboard doors. It's a perfect spot for a family breakfast or to relax with friends over a drink. It's a home that says 'you can sit with us'.

We can't quite match the midtown location but we've taken a spin through our collection to find some suitably fetch pieces which would fit seamlessly into Seyfried's stylish home.

Our Bolt stool features an adjustable seat height and industrial design. Choose a wooden seat or opt for upholstery in fabric, leather, or faux leather for enhanced comfort - perfect for a bar, restaurant or café.

Our Woodbridge table is made using solid Ash and can be stained to a variety of finishes. Its simple, clean lines and elegant aesthetics combine to create a piece that sits comfortably in a city or country-inspired interior. Available in two heights and table top sizes it can seat a crowd comfortable or settle into a smaller space.

Our Camelia collection echoes the look and feel of the vintage armchairs which feature in Seyfried's sitting room. We supplied this elegant lounge chair in our project at Regents University London - another heritage space that blends traditional and contemporary styling so effectively.

In addition to our main collection, we can also create bespoke pieces to suit every space and project - we love a chance to get creative and work collaboratively with clients and designers.
